Last weekend the Netherlands made its Christmas purchases en masse. Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday were all very busy. In total Equens processed almost 30 million transactions with debit and credit cards. Saturday the 22nd of December was the busiest day, with a total of 9,083,801 payments being processed, the highest number of payments per day ever.
On Monday the 24th of December the number of payments peaked between 2.00 p.m. and 2.30 p.m., when Equens Nederland processed no less than 365 transactions per second, a new peak record.
