Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. selects Equens SE for SEPA payment processing

14-09-2009

London/Utrecht, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ (BTMU) London Branch signed an agreement with Equens for the processing of its incoming and outgoing SEPA Credit Transfers (SCT). The agreement comprises the processing of all Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ London Branch SEPA Credit Transfer transactions.

BTMU's decision is based on the excellent relationship between Equens and BTMU Holland. The agreement will be effective as of October 2009, due to the fast implementation also an important reason to choose Equens. Previous to the London branch, BTMU Holland has selected Equens as their payment processor for SCT.

As part of the agreement Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ London Branch will become part of Equens' CSM community. Banks outside the Equens community can be reached via Equens' bilateral inter-CSM agreements or the connection from Equens with EBA, the so-called EBALink. With this total solution Equens is offering Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ  full SCT reach for a competitive price.

Equens CSM community offers a major advantage by frequent parcel settlement at least once every half hour. Parcel settlement enables frequent determination of the amounts owed between banks, thereby making an important contribution to effective cash management for both banks and businesses. Credit risks are avoided and booking information can be supplied frequently and quickly through data communication, making it possible for banks to inform their clients promptly regarding their current balances.
