Europe's first Societas Europeae payment processor
Registered in the Netherlands, we are the first European payment service provider to operate as a European public limited liability company: Equens SE (Societas Europaea). The company has its registered offices in the Netherlands, with additional permanent offices in Germany and Finland.
With operations centered in the eurozone, we are the industry’s first Societas Europaea payment processor with an SE Works Council.
The company is governed by a two-tier board structure with a five-member Board of Directors chaired by Michael Steinbach, and a separate nine-member Supervisory Board chaired by former ING CEO Erik Dralans.
